This one didn’t do well in the US, but did awesome in Japan. Here’s why…In Japan it was released in 1987, one year after Nintendo NES. TurboGrafX-16 was 16 bit and smoked the NES (only 8 bit) for graphics and capabilities. In the US it was released in 1989, the same year that Sega’s Genesis was released (which was also 16 bit). Sega was a bigger name, so people naturally chose it over TurboGrafX-16.
