23 Most Brutally Tough 80’s Arcade Games

From 1980-1983 arcades made more than music sales and movie sales combined! Business was good, but the games were tough…

1-Sinistar

1. Sinistar – 1982

“Beware, I live! Run Coward! Run, Run! Aaaaaarg!” This game still gives me nightmares. I played it a lot and every time that scary Sinistar devil ship chased me, it caused me to panic. Personally I think Defender is tougher, but the thing with Sinistar is that it can never be mastered.

Bonus: Since it is the 2016 holidays, I thought it would be fun to look back on past video game consoles that cost more than 2016 Xbox One and PS4 (both go for $299 right now).

These are prices adjusted for inflation (cost in today’s dollars).

dreamcast

Sega Dreamcast (1998) – $299

This one is the same price as current 2016 holiday prices for Xbox One and PS4, but I had to list it anyway. According to true gaming geeks, this is considered one of the best consoles ever made. The reason it didn’t take off, was that Sony released Saturn just two years earlier for twice the price. People were gun shy when Dreamcast came out because Saturn sucked.
